This portrait of William Given was painted by Wooster artist, Michael Nachtrieb. Given had organized the recruitment of volunteers in Wayne County and even served as Colonel of the 102nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Weakened by his wartime responsibility, he died a year after the war at the age of 47.
