Description
An account of the resource
This image can be found on the front of a postcard. With the widespread dissemination of conventional black and white photography by the 1850's came its importance as a form of communicating news. While this might not seem like the expected pleasant image found on postcards today, the photographic postcard may very well have been the equivalent of the email or picture message of today!
